Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American TV chef personality. Burrell was also an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond locks and a lively appearance, shares tips on how you can cook dishes that are restaurant quality at home, using easy methods. Chef Burrell has also worked at some of the top restaurants located in New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy as well as competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell, who grew up within New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her after she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I was a huge Culinary Institute of American student. I was awed by every moment." It was difficult to master, do or work enough. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year learning in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. The chef gained an appreciation of Italian culinary and cultural traditions throughout her time in Italy, which has influenced the way she cooks. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens the lives of children facing obstacles and is also an Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador. she is an advocate for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. She travels frequently around the nation in her capacity as both a mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her professional life and the joy of cooking. Anne has, through her whole cooking journey, has said that it is a privilege to be in a position to be able to share this love of the food industry with people.
