Sasha Allen The openly transgender female transgender singer who made it to the Live Shows of The Voice, made history in their first appearance. Sasha Allen was the very first in 21 years of The Vocal contests Sasha could make it past the Battle Rounds. This Newtown, Conn. duo has now made it to the top 8 of the competition! Sasha revealed his transgender status when they presented their audition packages during the Blind Auditions. According to Parade.com, this was not a decision that was made in a hurry. Sasha transitioned in highschool and admitted that it was challenging to disclose such the vulnerable part of him to so many individuals. "But this past week during Fan Week], watching the support of fans and their reactions and the way it affected individuals really proved that it was worth it, and an appropriate choice regardless of it being hard to come up with." "'Have You Ever Seen the Rain' is one of the songs that was on a list of songs that we've been wanting to be a part of The Voice for quite a lengthy time," Sasha told Parade.com. "We played it before The Voice was even a feature for us. We received the song and we were thrilled. The song was one we already knew, it was a track we already had ideas for arranging.
